The Optimist
An Art Exhibition for World AIDs Day
1st – 6th December 2011
East Gallery, 214 Brick Lane, London

“On Thursday 1 December, a unique group exhibition opens at East Gallery in London to celebrate World AIDS Day. Thirty international artists have contributed works to the exhibition, and proceeds raised from the sale of prints will go to London-based charity Positive East.

MAC Cosmetics will be recreating three pieces of art in the exhibition as body paint on live models on Thursday, 1 December from 18:30 onwards. Live entertainment will also take place over the course of the evening.

Limited edition prints of the art on display in The Optimist will be available for purchase both at East Gallery while the exhibition is on display, and online.

An exhibition catalogue will be available that tells the story behind each work of art in The Optimist. Themes include reassurance, support, comfort, medication, prevention and social isolation.

By Members of the community getting involved, we can make things happen and improve the lives of people living with and affected by HIV here in London and across the world.

It is our pleasure to invite you to the exhibition of the international artist Shirin Golestaneh, inspired by the beauty of the Levantin coast in which she fell in love during her travel.

The exhibition will take place this Friday 15th of April at 19.30h in the exhibition hall of SHA Wellness Clinic (3rd floor). During the event an aperitif will be offered to the guests

The exhibition will be open until 15th of June.

Estimados amigos,

Es una placer invitarles a la Inauguración de la exposición realizada por la artista internacional Shirin Golestaneh´s inspirada en la belleza de la costa levantina, la cual tuvo el placer de conocer tras visitarnos un tiempo atrás, quedando prendada de la misma.

La inauguración tendrá lugar este viernes 15 de abril a las 19.30hr en la sala de exposiciones de SHA Wellness Clinic (3º nivel). Tras la inauguración se ofrecerá un cóctel a los invitados.

Le recordamos que la exposición permanecerá hasta el de 15 junio.
